The International Association of New
Haven is a cultural, educational and social organization dedicated
to supporting and strengthening mutual understanding between the
people of Greater New Haven and the rest of the world. We have been
celebrating the world's differences in New Haven for half a century
through mutual understanding and respect.
Founded in 1949, “The International
Center” was originally established as a community organization
that provided support to foreign students and their families at
Yale and other universities and colleges. Its “International
House” at 406 Prospect Street was a home and community to
students, their families and scholars from all over the world. We
sold our house in 2005 and have reorganized as The International
Association of New Haven (IANH), a grant giving organization supporting
local projects that foster international understanding.
Guided by our original purpose as the
New Haven hub for global connection, IANH looks forward to fulfilling
its mission for another fifty years and beyond. We invite grant
proposals from non-profit organizations for innovative projects
that support the international community of Greater New Haven, and
foster global education.
To our loyal members: thank you for all
of your past involvement and support! To those who are new to IANH,
enter and see what we’re all about!
