A Message from the Board President

The International Association of New Haven has made the transition from its roots as a programming organization to one that supports our new mission - that of providing grants to organizations that further international understanding within the greater New Haven community.

Following a successful launch event in October 2007, IANH has completed two years of grant giving activity, awarding grants to nineteen community and educational groups in the Greater New Haven area. IANH funds have supported a diversity of organizations and projects, all of which contributed in meaningful ways to increased understanding of the complicated world in which we live.

IANH has strengthened the Board by adding five new members with diverse backgrounds who bring the skills to take our organization to a new level. We begin this third grant year with a solid foundation, a strong group of dedicated volunteers and, an impressive slate of grant recipients, paving the way for a bright future. If ever there were a time to encourage global understanding at the local level, it is now. Please join us in supporting the IANH mission to "Bring the World to New Haven."

- Anne Kellett, Board President

IANH Reception 2008On November 20, 2008 the IANH held a reception at Luce Hall to honor and showcase programs that have received grants in past years and to kick off a new round of grant applications for 2009.

The event was very well attended. Visitors enjoyed food, drink and performances by young musicians. Many current and former IANH grantees displayed their projects and were available for networking and discussions with prospective applicants and other interested members of the New Haven community. We would like to thank all of the organizations that attended the event and made it a true celebration of ‘local projects for global understanding”!
